CPAP Follow-up

Follow-up by Phone

Your clinician will follow-up by phone within your first week of starting CPAP therapy. They will ensure you are comfortable and adjusting to your therapy.

Follow-up Appointments

Regular follow-up appointments with your clinician ensure your continued success with therapy. During these appointments your clinician:

  • Checks your blood pressure
  • Repeats your blood oxygen measurements
  • Assesses your sleepiness score
  • Takes another quality of life survey
  • Downloads the data collected by your CPAP machine (this data tells us how often and how long you used your machine and what pressures treated your apnea)

All of this information helps your clinician decide how well your therapy is working and if adjustments in CPAP pressure and mask fit or style are needed.

  • 1 month follow-up
  • If your CPAP therapy trial has worked well for you, you may begin long-term CPAP therapy.
  • If not, your clinician will discuss and counsel you on the alternative treatment options available.
  • 3-6 month follow-up
  • This appointment ensures your long-term therapy continues to be effective.
  • Your clinician will check for pressure leaks and resolve them and check that your mask is comfortable.
  • Annual follow-up
  • Annual appointments ensure continued success with your therapy.
  • Your clinician will inspect your mask and recommend replacement, if necessary. If your machine requires warranty repairs or service, they will coordinate these with our Home Care Service division.
  • We will also show you the most up-to-date equipment and coordinate your machine replacement every 3-5 years.
